Set Yourself Up for Success
The potential impact is huge, but it will take time and resources.
The Geek the Library campaign is designed to employ multiple touch-points to promote community awareness, education and engagement.
We will give you everything we’ve learned, along with access to professional materials and templates, but that is not enough to make an impact. If you are considering implementing this campaign, ask if your library can make the following commitments.
- Willingness to run the Geek the Library campaign for a minimum of six months.
- A dedicated staff member who is responsible for overseeing all elements of the campaign and acts as the main contact for the Geek the Library field team.
- Dedicated staff hours per week.
- Planning resources, including writing a marketing plan, event strategy, gathering and organizing local information that helps tell your library’s funding story, etc.
- Some resources for local advertising and events.
- Resources to download artwork and print marketing materials, as well as resources to resize ad templates or other materials, if needed.
- Willingness to abide by Geek the Library guidelines in use of the campaign.
